Largest city and capital of Portugal with an intensive maritime exploration History.

Lisbon was destroyed from earthquake, in combination with fires and a tsunami, in order to rebuild the city was called Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, that create the neighborhood of Baixa (financial and commercial district ).
Best expression of the financial court is Praça do Comércio.

Famous transport in Lisbon is the TRAM, first tramway was build on 1873.

Most known lines are :
28 – Praça Martim Moniz ↔ Graça ↔ Estrela ↔ Campo de Ourique (Prazeres)
15 – Praça da Figueira ↔ Belém ↔ Algés
Situated on west of Lisbon one of the most touristic attractions, the Belèm tower.

From here began the discoveries of sea routes to India, East Africa and Brazil.
Famous Portuguese dessert is the Pastel de nata, egg tart pastry dusted with cinnamon created before the 18th century by Catholic monks at the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos in Belèm.


The longest Europian bridge is Ponte Vasco da Gama the construction began in February 1995; the bridge was opened to traffic on 29 March 1998.

From one side of the bridge you can see The Sanctuary of Christ the King that is a Catholic monument overlooking the city of Lisbon, the statue is situated in Almada.
Part of the Portuguese culture is FADO (https://youtu.be/xFP05DkdiX8 ) that symbolize a feeling of loss (a permanent, irreparable loss and its consequent lifelong damage) that is contrasted by the vitality of the azulejo.
